Nearly twelve years before the story of The Epic Bedhead Saga begins in earnest, the Narrator of our grand tale encountered something he had never seen before.

Percival, also known as the Shepherd of Slumber, has tended the Dreamtenders Grove since before memory itself — carefully shepherding into existence Dreamtenders, the magical creatures who watch over the dreams of every child born into the world. It is ancient, sacred work. And he has never once been surprised by it.

Until now.

This is the story of how the most unusual Dreamtender ever created found his name.
